Red Mizuna
Red Mizuna (Brassica rapavar nipposinica) is a red leaf version of the Japanese heirloom variety Green Mizuna. As a microgreen, Mizuna is packed with flavour. It has a peppery Mustard flavour. It grows fine microgreens with a light stem, purple top and green frill. The purple tops can have splashes of greenery that gives Red Mizuna a unique look. The frilly true leaf generally comes out green and really gives this microgreen a vibrant appearance. Mizuna is full of healthy nutrients like Vitamins K, A, C, E and the minerals Manganese, Calcium, Potassium and Iron.

Mizuna is thought to have originated in China but has been naturalized and grown in Japan for centuries. Also known as Japanese mustard greens, the Tokita Seed Company in Japan, was the offer a red leaf version of the already well-known green leaf Mizuna.
