Packed with nutrients, they have an earthy flavour similar to the mature plant.

1. Lay a thin layer of coco peat and perlite mixture in a tray. Cover the surface area with seeds. Roughly 30 to 40  grams for a standard 52x27x3cm microgreens tray tray. You can soak seeds in water (room temperature) for 10 to 30 minutes prior to sowing. Add a drop of Hydrogen Peroxide to decrease chances of mould.
2. Cover seeds with another thin layer (about 1.5 cm) of moist grow medium and press down firmly.
3. Ad another tray (preferably without holes) on top of the seeds. Ad some weight in the form of a small tile or stone. This helps to form strong roots and get rid of unwanted seed hulls.
4. Keep wet with a spray bottle until all seeds have germinated and start to lift the top tray. Remove top tray and flip over to place greens into blackout. This helps the stems to lengthen. TIP: You can blackout as short as possible by letting stems get 1/2 cm long then move to light. This helps stem walls strengthen and minimises chances of damping off.
5. Introduce to light. This could be into artificial light, sunlight. An exposed windowsill will work just fine.
6. Make sure they have enough water each day. They should be ready between 12 and 18 days
