Thyme
Thymus Vulgaris is a low growing hardy perennial herb with small, aromatic leaves and pink or white flowers. Thyme is draught and pollinator friendly. Thyme can be grown in containers or in the ground and is cold resistant. It is commonly used in culinary dishes and has medicinal properties.

Soil: Well-draining soil that is not too rich in organic matter.
Sowing: Seeds can be started indoors or outdoors in the spring.

Growing notes:
Thyme prefers a warm, dry climate and is drought tolerant. Protect Thyme from cold winds and rain, although it is hardy in dry winter climates. It requires little water and can be harvested throughout the growing season by snipping off the leaves. Thyme is a vigorous grower so leave plenty of room to grow and pruning the plant back will contain the growth in summer and spring.
Uses:
A culinary herb that is extremely versatile and pairs well with fish dishes, sauces and pastas. Used in the making of perfumes and burning Thyme will help repel incest’s. Thyme is also used as a ornamental ground cover because of it’s low maintenance nature.

Native to Eurasia, the Levant and the Mediterranean region.
